Well it has done it twice now, I'll have been driving for I dunno anywhere from 15-35 mins and twice the past two days the car has cutoff when I am slowing down to make a left. I just see the Lights showing the car is on, CEL etc.. and the brakes don't want to work with the car off nor does steering since its power..

It did it yesterday around 6:00pm on the way home from work as I was pulling into my driveway.

Then it did it on my way to wash the car, stopping to turn in and (boof)

The only things in common are, slowing down, making a left or going to be and turning my radio down. :\

This is a 2000 SVT-Contour with about 39k on it. Just put in a K&N about a week ago otherwise stock.

Thanks

How to clean the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor)

In order to clean the sensor wires, you must remove the MAF from the car. Once removed, spray some electrical contact cleaner or non-chlorinated brake cleaner (something that leaves NO residue) through the sampling tube over the wires.

The MAF should be clean inside. If not, you have a leak that is letting air in that isn't being filtered. The wires may or may not look slightly off color. They can become oxidized over time, which can affect readings. Excess oil from a K&N or other open element filter that has been over-oiled can foul the wires, as well.

I found it

Yeah that was a thought, I mean I don't notice any acting up except sometimes the idle rpm drops and hops up every now and then. I checked all terminals on the battery and they seem good :\

I am going to try to clean the MAF and see if it helps. I know I have to replace the fuel pump soon (2000 Returnless Style) cause the car Bogs/Jumps under WOT after I get less than 1/3 of a tank or so.

So much to do so little time, I've got a Venom kit ready to go in but I want to have it in tip top shape. So I plan to redo the plugs with TR6 NGK's and I am looking to see if these Jacobs wires I have will fit the tour (its a mixed kit from my old 3.8L mustang will work on the 94-98's and the 99-currents with 8 wires total the 2 are different on two wires but anyhow not sure if they will work and hate to throw them away)
..

So near future plans are Fuel Pump Replacement (just replaced the fuel filter about 2k ago), Water Pump Metal Impeller, TR6's still haven't decided on GAP but I am going to do some searching on that and new wires.

Plus I'm due for some tires soon too my car eats the insides out im on my 4th wornout set at 38k and I've asked the dealer and numerous ppl to fix the alignment but they apparently JUST DONT GET IT! Dealer paid for a new set of BFG's the first time and second time I paid. Third time was Firehawks, Fourth is these Kumho's 712's fronts are bald on inside now and rears are brand spankin new. Going to see if tire shop will give me something on the new ones and go with a Yoko AVS100 all around @ 225/50/16 since I gotta get 2 new fronts and an alignment. Woe is me

Hrm.. Well I went to inspect somethings before I started the cleaning process and had read you need to remove fuses to reset and unplugging just wasn't good enough I guess...

SO I decided to try that and when I got into the distrib block I saw fuse 11 and it was in there but it wasn't too.. Hmmm.. it wasn't seated good stopping could have some force on that perhaps and the Computer Chopped in and out enough to cut the car off but not reset anything? Maybe I am still gonna clean the wire but hope that is fixes it.
