I can help answer, though. I will assume you have the stock head unit and speakers.
You can add tweeters easily to a stock setup. Just splice into the door speaker. I recommend a crossover, but most tweeters (such as these ones) come with a crossover already. As for the placement, it's really up to each person's taste. I have a pair surface mounted (with velcro) to my defrost vents. It was easy, looks good, and sounds good to me. You could use some plumber's putty for trial locations. Other people have drilled holes to make the tweeteres flush which looks better, but cannot be reversed (since you cut a hole in your door panel).
I recommend a different tweeter now than this one. Both are great, but I think this other one is a little better.
