I'm sure it does depend a lot on the speaker's design. Are the coils 2", 3", even 4"? How many layers? Is the wire round, or edge wound? Cooling provisions, etc. etc..

As you know though, dvc was created for flexability sake, not because svc wasn't strong enough to do the job.
