I have the following code:

P1152 Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 2.

Okay, I know the difference between Upstream and DownStream. But, I am confused on Bank 1 vs. Bank 2. I have looked around at past posts, and I read two different answers. Anyway, when I looked at the code page it says bank 2 is in the front and bank 1 is in the back. Is that right? If this is the case. I am assuming that the Upstream, Bank 2 Oxygen sensor is the sensor located next to the oil filter on the Duratec. Is that right? Anyway, that's the one I replaced.

Can anyone help clarify the Bank 1 vs. Bank 2 issue for me?

Thanks friends,
EarlJr

I disconnected the battery to reset the code and turn off the engine light. I drove the car for about 70 miles since I installed the new oxygen sensor and no light. It looks like this may have done the job. I am not positive, but I think that Upper Stream, bank2 is radiator side. I'll give it a 1000 miles and post another reply.

Also, don't be stupid like me and take your safety glasses off while working under the car. A piece of rust or something fell into my eye, and a day later, I was in the ER with a painful cornea abrasion. The pain is gone, but my vision is blurry, and I have to get it checked out again tomorrow when the doctors are back to work . I think while I'm at the doctor, I'll pick up some anti-fog comfortable safety goggles. Even if a good, comfortable, manageable pair cost me $200, it sure beats the alternative.

Bank 1 = firewall

Bank 2 = radiator

Or if you HAD actually looked you would have found the answer just 1 short post away in the forum...

You are in luck, since bank 2 = front = easier.

And just ignore Demon's indignation... he's got this thing about giving out information, and then making sure whoever asked now knows they're the b!tch.

DemonSVT,

Yeah I read that post. If you would have read my entire post, you would of seen that I mentioned that I got conflicting info in my forum search and I wanted it clarified. Regardless, thanks for the constructive comment in your post.

Thanks,

EarlJr
