Joe said it gave him no decreased 1/4 mile times, but did give him a higher MPH in the 1/4 mile. Haven't tested mine.

Better throttle response,
no real HP gain.

Seems to me that the throttle response could be due to the adjustment of the cable, not actually the (dremel adjusting). W/O doing a search, does someone actually have performance figures on this?? Before & after, & can you really determine that the cable was not [tightened up that much more] after the re-install...if it comes down to response...I've tightened up the cable in my last 2 cars & got better throttle response...BFD

Yes this is a challenge...(according to the above reply)...

Better airflow...yes...but really, on a zetec, unless you are going for the best times on a NA(strip only car), is it really gonna make sense or be that beneficial on a street car? Pleeeeezzzzze...{and I know everyone thats done it is gonna defend themselves)

[flame suit on]

Better throttle response because more air flows into the engine quicker.
Very few mods really gives a noticable increase in performance on any car.
Its a matter of building mod upon mod and amplifying the results.
For example;
Intake by itself = 2-3HP,
Exhaust by itself = 2-3HP,
Intake + Exhaust = 10-12HP.

Yes, I can totally understand "building mods" but really unless you have those other mods is it really gonna make a difference...I can see the "bonus" potential though...throttle response, if your cable is loose(factory is not neccessarily "loose" but not tight either)...ummm

BTW...I'm gonna do this my-self(if its free, its for me) good cheap mod...really what could it hurt, unless you dremel a little too much...

But no-one has any figures on this? Throttle response depends entirely on how quick it opens...I highly doubt that all the airflow the world would increase the actual airflow to the TB if the 'fly wasn't open...

Throttle response[depends on]cable response[in which you have to]open up the MO FO...then deal with how smooth the air flows...$.02

I didn't adjust my cable when I installed the optimized TB, was too fed up with all the time it took just to get it on there because of a few problems I ran into. The response does seem better though. Of course a butt dyno doesn't prove much. I'm not saying a felt some huge difference, but you can notice a little something different.

...Perhaps just the feeling of instaling something new & the anticipation?? I dunno...
I've installed alot of things in alot of cars (I'm twice your age...not a slam) & it always seems different(somehow)...

At this point, I'd like to see actual proof & figures...although, as I mentioned, I'm gonna try this myself...& I doubt that my car will EVER be on a dyno...but hey WTF. I would like to see something figure wise, someone has come up w/...

It's not about the 15HP you gain after all the Mods.
It's about having fun with your Hobbie and making your
car something not so plain and OEM. I do the same thing
with computers and say the same things to those that
want vapor chill units and water cooling only to get
another 300MHz. Really.. what do you do with that extra
speed, look at porn faster? Same for the car, I don't
look at these cars as a Ricer. More like a Celeron of
cars if ask me.. Then again, I don't know anyone with
a wideblock V12 engine.

Hmmmm.. WideBlock V4?
