The audio forum gurus are pretty smart about just about anything... however...

There is a good chance that none of us (not that i'm a guru) have had any experience like this... if your sony HU is still under warranty, take it in and get it professionally fixed. I don't think anyone here would recommend taking your HU apart, causing potential disaster, just to save some time without your HU. If you still have your Ford HU, plug it in til the Sony comes back.

If you were out of warranty, who knows, maybe we'd have some better ideas.

By the way... you posted your message this morning... most people are at work, and lots of us don't have internet access when we're away from home. You might have had some more replies by later tonight.
