well i went with aamco, well see , as far as a cooler he said he would consult with the 'builder' to see if it was necessary, was quoted $225, with the bm cooler for 50 that i could supply, what type of cooler am i getting?

as for mobil one syn atx, he remarked we will use dextron 3, if i want anything else he will pick up and just charge me,

he was unable to provide any info on my code p 0732, he said that a rebuild would be necessary,

from alldata, possible causes are damaged solenoid, internal trans, pcm damaged,

is the damaged solenoid something that requires the whole trans to be disasemmbled?

what about the pcm being damaged? what type of damage could it be and how is it tested for?

thanks

Well by builder said the samething! Hince the reason I posted the thread above, "My CD4E Shopping Experience". I could not get a straight answer from anyone and everyone told me that I knew more about the CD4E then they did. Weird!

You will have to do your own homework! Take the resources found on the net and my site , which I try to compile all those. This just so happens to be one of those topics that you have to educate yourself before you tackle the quarter back.

$2624 for

1098 labor, warranty soft parts
349 torque converter

hardparts:
solenoid block with free valve body service 337
rverse drum 125
shift kit 83
input sprag 74
updated pump plate 147
forward ddrum 205

and front engine mount 209 installed

i didnt think it would be that much
for a code p0732 see above would all of that be necessary,

also could not warranty car with mobil1 syn

also there was a possibilty that car may not shift on sat morn when i go to pick up, and at that time he would keep to make right, when asked why, he said, "hey man sometime things happen" and i said like what, his reply car may not go into gear, and its just mechanical and he will make sure he fixes it, the price is the same, my reaction = ??

what ever it is, it is, im sure there is at least a 10-15% markup on the prices of the hard parts,

what else could have been my alternative?

please donate to my tranny fund you can paypal me $$$

many things, dont keep a car past 60-70k miles, it will need this service, buy new, get a good warranty, why deal with the headaches? also car at that age has 2-3 yrs at best before a major prob occurs

this guy ian, saw me and said hes good for 2600, bang over the head i got it, the parts he suggest replacing may infact be worn but all of that, come on, he could probably left off half that list, car would stiil be good for a year, in which time i sell it, and move on,

do those parts necessarily correct p o732? some yes all no, well see, im gonna get the extra warranty, and drive the sh out of the car, and hope it breaks,

if under warranty i dont think all these parts would have been included, warranty work = fix and get out, your first hit at the tranny shop set you up to pay for all that stuff, and then hope for the best,

Why skimp on repairs and then '"Hope for the best?"
This is like playing Russian Roulette with a .45 !

In a year, if something in your life changes and you are forced to keep your Contour,
you would have wished that you did all that work for the peace of mind alone...

ive made a 2800 investment in a car worth about 2600, what have i done??

$2800 is still cheaper than Car Payments...

Your subframe needs to be aligned.
They probably didn't do it when they put it back in place.
There are 2 pins that need to be installed in the rear of the subframe before it is bolted back to the Contour.
The two pins insure that it goes in SQUARE.
