Do you have the premium audio system that has a factory amp? If you do, there's a good chance it's not bypassed. The factory amp has to be bypassed or the result will be very poor sound.

Thats how mine was running stock speakers with aftermarket head unit. It gets sh!tty with the factory amp.

If your amp is not bypassed, trust me it's the culprit. As far as the speaker rattle goes, you might want to check if they are securely mounted and maybe look into dynamat or something similar. If you really want to improve the sound you can look into getting an amp for them. Send them a clean 50 watts or so and they should sound very nice.

if you didnt bypass the amp then its likely not done. did u buy the car new or used. unless previous owner did it. call crutchfield. tell them u need an amp bypass harness. did u use a hu harness or splice the clarion in? both r like 16 bucks. amp harness is 8-10 bucks. it works perfectly.

Hay if you want to bypass the amp your self and save the money here are the scematics on wiring out the amp.
OK here we go.
You will need a pack of splice connectors for 16-14 gage wire.
Electrical tape. A crimp tool would be usefull for the splices. You can pick them up pritty cheap or maybe a neighbor might have one.
The small square connector is from the radio and the wide flat connector is from the amp, to the speakers. There are three wires on the wide flat connector you don't need, I just left theme alone and taped up the connector with electrical tape after cutting the other wores off. The three wires on that big connector are Black/Yellow, Orange/Yellow, White. They are the three on the connector buy themselves. All the speaker wires are in a row.
From Radio..............To Speakers
White/red......RF+......Brown/Red
Brown........RF-......White/red
Pale Green.....LF+......Brown/yellow
White/Orange...LF-......White/Black
Purple/wite....RR+......Brown
Light Blue.....RR-......White
Light Blue/Black.LR+......Brown/White
Yellow.......LR-......White/Violet

I beg to differ. I tried running my setup with and without the amp and right now I am still using the factory amp.........sounds pretty good. Here is what I did. I turned the "Loud" setting off on my deck (kenwood mpv-619), I set the "V-Off" to about -2 or -3. Plus, I am running bass blockers on both the front and rear set of speakers. I think you get better sound this way (better bass too).
