Well.. Here's the perfect location for my contour story..
My brother in law, married to my younger sister had a 98SE, and were following me in my 95LX.. Long story short.. Traffic stopped because of something in the road... I stopped, barely.. he rear ended me, at 50mph. (never even tapped the brakes.. didn't notice the traffic stopping)
Anyway.. knocked me across the median, into the oncoming traffic lanes, etc... when I got out of that sticky situation, I got out, and looked at both Tours.. Mine was crumpled (rear valance/bumber) into the rear wheel well, and his was smashed.. Nobody.. myself, my passenger, him, or my sister were hurt...
Well.. my sister broke her ankle.. shattered, really... but it would have happened, had she not had her feet in the dash, to be smashed by the glass compressing into them...
either way.. had she been sitting right, I am fully convinced that we would have been okay... I love the Tour, for that... great safety, and peace of mind..... You just have to be careful not getting too careless, feeling that secure..
