I've been thinking about putitng together another somewhat fun daily driver and an idea hit me. Why not take a 3.0 Duratec Taurus and put the SVT Contour heads and intake on it? Other than getting a custom chip made for it from Superchips or Diablosport to take advantage of the additional RPM and higher shift points it can use, and beeing up the 4 speed auto, are there any other modifications necessary that anyone can think of? I'd probably add headers and a SHO or custom cat back too.

Also, how well does the 3.0 duratec take high RPM? Could I wind it out to 7000 RPM regullarly?

I also think this would be a fun car to mess with the honda boys at the track. I wonder how they would feel when their new Civic Si loses to a '99 Taurus SE?
