if i add a switch, the one with only two prongs, not the three prong ones, do i still need to add a fuse. Also what is the main difference between a two or three prong switch?

What are you trying to switch?
A Single-pole, Single-throw (SPST) switch has two contacts. It would typically be installed in series on the hot (powered) side of the circuit- which is usually fused. You cut the hot lead and connect the switch. The switch then simply completes or interrupts the circuit.
A Single-pole, Double-throw (SPDT) switch will have three contacts. The hot would go to the center connection and the two items to be switched would go on the others. In this case when the switch will complete one ciruit or the other depending on which way it is thrown.
The there's the Double-pole, Double-throw (DPDT)switch that has 6 terminals, and auxiliary relays for switching higher current items....and on and on.
Give us a bit more info.

i'm in the process of adding leds and switches to my car. the 2 prong r generally on-off. the 3 prong or on-off-on where one on can be used as a momentary type setup. or the 3 prong ones use the third for a built in led.
what do u have in mind.

I have that switch. I put it in for my antenna, so I basically have my remote-turn-on coming from my head unit to the switch, and from the switch to the power antenna. I am using the top and middle prong. So if I wanted the led inside the switch to light up, should I just get the 12v wire coming straight up from the cig lighter? Is it too much power, or is it alright to put in 12v for the accessory?
