It is there to remove water vapor and volatiles (like gas) from the crankcase. If it is not working you will start to get buildup like that and possibly oil in the intake duct.

My Dad mentioned that it could be water vapor too

PVC was replaced about 6 months ago. (about 8-9K miles)
Mabye I should just replace it again and see what happens.

The gas smell is so light, that I dont think I will worry too much about it. It has always had that smell now and then, and the car runs stronger than when I bought it, so I doubt there is a ring problem. If there is, Im gonna get rid of this car QUICK.
The reason I dont think its that is because my truck always had a gas smell in the oil and it always passed a compression test with excellent numbers.

Im starting to think its because of the mileage since my last oil change. Think that could be the problem? I have never let it go over 3K before. I dont even want to drive it anymore until it gets changed, which will be at the earliest, Friday.

Thanks for everyones input. I sure hope its not a ring problem
