i was at a local stereo shop and saw and heard 2 12 inch speakers in a see through box facing one another with 4 port holes and 800 watts total output, This thing pumped out bass. Now my question is have you ever heard of Audiobahn? They wanted $250.00 for it.

Audiobahn is quality product, what I would do if I was you get the model numbers of the subs and check that model number out on EBAY if the prices are similar I would go for it because through the shop if the speaker gets blown you can get a new one, through Ebay you can not. Hope that helps.

Audiobahn is one of the best budget brands out there. I get the impression that they are one of the few mobile audio companies not trying to rape their customers.

www.mmxpress.com has some real good deals on audiobahn left over from 2000. I was wondering the same thing myself as far as their quality because their prices are very reasonable.

I too am considering purchasing Audiobahn subs because of their reasonable pricing. I would appreciate additional feedback from people. Are these really good products?

BE CAREFULL!!! Audiobahn is ok, but they ARE Over-rated. So do not put full RMS into them and expect them to live to long... they have a tough time with . I have heard a LOT of bad stories, a lot.. And, their amps power is over-rated by a bit also. If you are getting a REALLY good deal on it, it might be ok... but just make sure you get a decent warranty

dnewma04--I will probably get a pair of 10's or a single 12". Not sure yet. Don't need/want too much boom.

ZackL--You've done a pretty good job making me nervous about Audiobahn. I appreciate you opinion. Any other suggestions for brands that are not as well known? I know quite a bit about the major names, but am looking for a better deal.

Ok, this is what you need to do. If brand name car audio is not as important as overall build and sound quality, get a sub from one of these couple of sources...

www.adireaudio.com -- A single Shiva should be sufficient. Very high quality woofer.
www.stryke.com -- the PL series subwoofers are arguably the best SQ subs on the market at any price. The SAL series are similar to the Shiva. The PL series comes in a huge variety of configurations. There is bound to be one that suits your needs.
www.partsexpress.com look up part # 295-185. It is a clone of the Shiva but sometimes at a better price.

All of the subs mentioned will destroy anything on the market at the same price. Outperform almost everything at twice the price, and in some cases equal or outperform stuff at three times the price.

Forget the Audiobahn if you aren't interested in having a brand name sub but rather in SQ per $$. You won't find anything on the market that will compete in the bang for the buck.

Dave
