You can too have an auto .. buy your own car.  
That's actually half the reason I got MTX myself. Only my dad and a few of my friends can drive stick, which further limits the 'Can I borrow your car?' syndrome. (Unfortunately, that question now became "Can you drive me to ...?" which is even more annoying! ) I had the opportunity to buy the Contour off my parents for a similar price as the PGT, but I wanted my 5-speed, lol. Looks like that was a mistake!
