BTW, Maine is on my list of states that I badly want to see. Is late summer a good time to come? I'm already planning out next summer!

There are those who say that Maine has two seasons: winter and 9 months of darn poor sleddin'.

June usually starts the summer warm-up, 60s to mid 70s.
July typically ranges from 70s to 90s with humidity to match.
August can be a crapshoot, sometimes 80s to 90s and humid, sometimes 60s to 70s and foggy. You just never know.

That's why people here say "If you don't like the weather, wait awhile, it'll change."

September-October is many people's favorite time...after Labor Day, tourists are gone, last weekend the high temps in the 70s with low humidty.
Air is crisp in the morning, the leaves start to change, shorts are put away and the sweatshirts come out. Hot doughnuts with fresh apple cider.

Anyway, most anytime is a good time. I see alot of New Mexico plates on cars around here, mainly because of the naval air base 3 miles from home.

Cheers!

Jose - I live in Los Alamos, about 30min away from Santa Fe. It's ~5hrs. from Deming.

rkneeshaw - You also have fender liners made for narrower tires. We 99+ SVT folk have "upgraded" fender liners. Like I said, w/ 5 people and tight turns, I'd probably rub.

Huey - There was a group buy for them a while back.

midcoast - thanks for the great info! I'm surprised you see any NM plates all the way up there!

Looking real cool Derek. One question for you, where did you hook up the oil temperature sensor?

Thanks, Chris.
My oil pressure sending unit and oil temp sensor are T'd into the head. If you need visuals, I'd be happy to ablidge.

Disclaimer: I don't want to hear that pressure is not 100% accurate in the head (heck temperature probably isn't 100% accurate)...it's better than having the gauges sit in their boxes!

When the kids were small my wife and I started to keep a checkoff list of license plates. The rules were simple:

-Try to find all 51 plates between Memorial Day and Labor Day. (Maine IS supposed to be "Vacationland" according to our plates.)
-We have to be in Maine when we see them or they don't count.

In the last several years we've seen them all each year. The most illusive ones are from North and South Dakota. Washington, Oregon
Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii , and even Arizona and New Mexico are all pretty easy.

We finished this year with Kansas last weekend...a week late.
