I understand completely. I got the same runaround with all my cars when I was your age. In fact, I went to 3 different ford dealers to get something fixed and it took the 3rd dealer, the one that I actually bought it at to say that there was something wrong and it needed to be fixed right away!!!!!!! Duh, they just think kids are stupid and don't know anybetter I guess... Fortunately, the dealer I use now gives excellent service. Best bet is to get someone to go with who's older, or have a parent take it in insead of yourself, usually that get something resolved a lot quicker. That or have someone go tear them a new one and stand there and laugh all the while. Very sorry to hear about your dad's situation. Hope he heals up quickly.

Yea, they tried to screw me over too, just because I'm 17. I brought my car in to get the warpped dash and the heater fixed. The next day I pick it up and BAM my side skirt has a missing peice! wtf is that? I told them and they go No we didn't take it off why would we your car never went up on the stand. I go it was on there when I brought the car in. They said no it wasn't and tried to argue with me. So I brought in my mom and she told them the same ****, and now they were like Ok we'll order you a new peice, but we didn't break it off. GRRRRRRRRR so anyways they were supposed to call me when they got it in. They got it in over the weekend and didnt' call me at all. The only way I found out was when my friend went to take his car in and I was going to give him a ride home. When they give me the part they tell me it's 20 something dollars, and I'm like WTF? you guys told me you were going to order a new one and I wasn't going to pay for it because they knocked it off. So he's like well you can go talk to 'so and so' I go fine. I go and talk with this guy and he's like yea you don't have to pay we'll just write it off as a 'whatever' he said. Then he goes right before I left, By the way, We didn't knock the part off. I couldn't believe he said that, he's like 30something and acts like a child, it's not like it's tooken out of his paycheck, I mean how old is this guy really, you are supposed to be nice to your customers not play "i'm always right" grr ford, I think we need to start a petition to have ford revise their customer satisfaction rules

I have had a horror of a time with my ford dealership. Too make a long story short I ended up talking with the owner of the place and screaming in the showroom about all the issues I was having, and threatend to take action with the BBB....they start to listen after that. Talk to the owner and be clamn and collective as hard as it may be .... then if they dont listen... thats when you pull out the can of whoop a$$
Sorry to hear about your pops and I wish ya the best of luck.

mine wasn't a ford dealer but an independent shop which is usally pretty good. This was with my topaz. Every time I would get in the car and put it into gear (reverse or drive) the exaust hit the bottem of the car. We took it in twice, I told them what was happening, and what I thought was wrong with it. I said either tranny or motor mounts were broken. well both times they said nothing is wrong, it's a topaz/tempo.
When I traded it in I got 1,000. I go back a week later and see a sticker 2500 on it for sale. Now this doesn;t bug me, they have to make money some how. But I asked if they found out was wrong. The ford guy replied the engine mounts were broken

Ford dealers can toss my salad, they're nothing but a conglomeration of stupid (unts that don't know how to fix a car or will weasle their way out of doing a warranty job if they can.
I fix my car myself, and you should learn how to do it too. Otherwise find a local CEGer who REALLY knows his chit, and get him/her to help you out.

If you don't have an SVT but do have a lot of time (yeah right), hop on Rt. 20 and drive to Auburn MA. My family's dealt quite a bit with Millbury Ford service. Not quite the smiliest people, but relatively curteous, and they definitely got the job(s) done, and done quickly (under emergency conditions). Oh... and they DO call you to let you know your car is ready or if they're gonna add to the $$ list! However, you pay for what you get at this dealer... while the service has been very good, it's gotten expensive... Sales is another issue. When I went with my dad, I got ignored b/c I'm only 17, even though we made it obvious I would be the primary driver of the 2000 Tour we looked at. My sympathies to your dad. I had an emergency bone graft done last August behind my upper lip ... they're not fun. (Imagine the dentist's surprise when removing my front tooth to see a huge hole behind it). I can only imagine what one spanning his chest would be like.
