I have a 99 Contour and I like it very much.
The little plastic vent/grill for the defroster (between the windshield and dashboard) curled up during the first year of its life and the dealership replaced it. Now it has happened again and the dealership won't replace it. Any suggestions for how to repair or replace it inexpensively?

Sounds like dash warp. The dealer did the required recall work, but the workmanship in the DW fix wasn't good enough. You may want to take this up with FORD corporate & fight with them a little. It is a common problem with the Contour/Mystique and should have been approached more aggressively.

On another note, welcome to CEG! When you have time to read through some info on your car, use the seach feature & type in "dash warp". Extend the search for six months or so & you'll get lots of information. Very powerful search tool for you on this site.
