just do not use a crowbar

with the magnefine cheaper model the entire unit must be replaced where as the more expensive stainless steel mode can be cleaned out and reinstalled.

which is more effective at filtering without reducing flow I do not know

RoadRunner know which filters have been flow rate tested.

So ask him which is more effective!!

According to Magnefine, they have a new product called FORCEFIELD,
that works with any SPIN on Oil Filter.
This adds the Magnetic pickup for particles that are 3 microns and larger.

If you want simplicity, then go with the magenefine filter.
Change it every 15,000 miles at least.

If you have an existing spin on oil filter setup, adding the FORCEFIELD can't hurt.

The Magnefine filter is also good for our POWER STEERING SYSTEMS.
I would place this between the return line from the rack and the intake of the pump.
There is less pressure and more FLOW required in this line.

Does the summit filter have a higher flow rating that the magnefine model?

Well, because I felt that I should simple give Russell direction in researching these topics himself. Honestly, if I were to suggest one, someone would come back and say that I should have said something else or simply suggested something else. I feel that he got the general idea as to were I was going with my responses. Russell is a smart boy, so I don't think he felt that I was letting him down by not openly suggesting a single product. He can make up his own mind. I fell that would be best anyway, since he will feel more satisfied with the end result that way.

Which would I go with??? Since I have not researched any other them all that much, just general information, I cannot say. Will I be installing one soon? Nope.

Russell did you read BigJim's response in the "Remote Trans Filter" post in the Transaxle forum about where his neighbor mounted the "B&M Remote Transmission Filter. Part number 80277"

Here is BigJim's response:

"My neighbor installed the filter kit on his 96 SE this past week and I saw the finished product yesterday.

He could not find a suitable location under the car, so it ended up in the area that the battery was in before he moved the battery to the trunk. Pictures may follow, but it will probably be several days or even a few weeks. "

So once again make sure you have a location planned before you purchase any additional aux filter for your car!!

What I find more interesting is the fact that B&M lists part number 40266, which is a performance shift kit, for the CD4E. Although it plainly states that it is for the 4R70W.
