Even after the paint, it looks like it was just glued on there. Look at the second pic of the red one, at the front of the passenger door. $6k for that? You could make an MR2 seriously haul ass with $6k. Instead, you make it look like another attempt at a Testarossa look-alike. And the ones I've seen on Fieros look better. That's just sad. IMO. I suppose there's no accounting for taste. Or lack thereof.

I nebver would have guessed that in a million years! Well IF the guy does finish it it might not look so bad but 6k! No way this guy paid that. If I see it finished (which I highly doubt) I'll snap a pic.

I'm sure you could build a knock off for less than a grand, probably some out there now being that it's not exactly new.... I think that red one looks pretty sweet, but he better lose the steelies after he paints it! Better yet, he better paint it!

well of course they are replicas available. But as for the comment on a testarosa look alike, i think thats a very naive comment. if you knew anything about mr2's you would know they are awesome cars and trd is a very very well respected company

Any car like that should belong in a shop or garage until finished. I don't believe a car in the working phases should be allowed to be unveiled until finished or at least until at a stopping point between major upgrades so that it can be viewed with some dignity and respect whenever out on the road. I'd rather buy a stock cheap piece o junk $500 car to drive in the meantime until I could get the nice ride all one color and get rid of the steelies before bringin her out and forcing everyone to see it

If you are talking about Toyota Racing Development, I know of them. IIRC, it's an in-house performance branch of Toyota, like their version of SVT, or AMG, or whatever(RUF? BMW's M series?). I respect what they do, most of the time. I love MR2's, I think they are sweet cars that looked pretty cool right off the showroom floor. If I didn't have such an affinity for the rotary engine, I probably would have owned one in my earlier days.
I simply enjoy what is called "the sleeper factor", in my terminology. Instead of making it look fast, make it go fast. So I am already biased. I have seen certain body kits that I DO like, however (though I admit there are few). This is not one of them. As I stated before, this is merely my opinion. I see that I am in the minority, but I still think it looks tacky. I think maybe it's the fact that the MR2 is such a rounded, flowing shape, and that body kit is too angular, even boxy?
