I just changed the oil in my 98' CSVT. I used Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil with a Fram oil filter. About how many miles can I drive before it should be changed again? Thanks

Poor filtration, it's been discussed here. I read a report comparing oil filters Fram was at or near the bottom of the list. I use K&N, expensive and worth every penny IMHO.

Fram is made of an inferior filtering material (I think it was once found to be newspaper in one Fram filter). The motorcraft filter is much better, and something like a k&n filter being even better. Why use superior oil with an inferior filter?

Here's what you're looking for:

The Motorcraft...at about the same price..is a much better filter. And it now comes with a synthetic anti-flowback valve...sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.....

Damnit. I didn't know that FRAM oil filters sucked. I guess it is too late to do anything about that mistake until it is time to change the oil again.
