I second (or third) that notion. I used to sell vdubs, and I drove quite a few of gas and diesel versions of the new beetle and golf. That TDi has gobs of torque for such a small vehicle (and engine). Launching the TDi involves not a whole lot of r.p.m.s, and just about dumping the clutch, almost trying to make it bog. They only rev like 1k r.p.s. at redline (exaggeration, don't flame me ), so it seems like you are constantly shifting. Most fun I ever had driving a diesel.
