Heh ... just a victim of good deals. The iPod was $69 after education discount and rebates combined with PowerBook which in itself was only $685 after equivalency of the "totalled" Vaio (long story). Yard sale find was $75 including the awesome monitor. Firewire card in Power Mac was $1 at a yard sale (and it works!); USB card was $10; the Power Mac itself was $225 after shipping including monitor; stereo was free (broken CD tray; I just use the auxiliary), Logitech keyboard/mouse was free (December 20 deal), the list goes on.
