Joe is right, don't do anything to the cat except remove it.
If you want to help move exhaust gasses through it faster, wrap it up in exhaust insulating wrap.
The Cat is where alot of the heat of the exhaust is lost.
So wrapping it will keep the exhaust hotter and more free flowing.
