What are the codes? If we new what codes your getting, we might be able to tell how it is wiried into the Solenoid Block wiring harness and from there find out why you are getting the codes that you. That could then lead to a fix.

Actually, as long as it's not bang shifting, it should be good for u'r tranny (as long as the line pressure, like unisys said, is in spec). Typical slow shifting is "comfortable" but puts more stress on the bands, etc.

I forgot the numbers for the codes, but they were for the TFT (transmission Fluid Temperature sensor) park, reverse, neutral, drive, 2, 1, selector not showing proper resistance when in each selection (ie - park is supposed to be like ~0.645 and it actually is ~0.600) there were a couple of codes related to each of those.
heres what i think they are just by looking at the list from the main page:
P1709 Park or Neutral Position Switch out of Self-Test Range.
P1001 KOER Test Cannot Be Completed.
P0705 Transmission Range Sensor out of Self-Test Range or Shorted to Ground.
these are guesses tho, should have written the codes down when we tested it....

I listened to the video & the shifts sounded pretty good. I hear no clunks from a bang shift. It did appear that you never got out of 3rd gear, most likely because of the O/D light flashing.
Don't commit to it until the O/D light thing is solved & you get a plausable explanation as to why it did that.
Let us know what the line pressures were (I'm curious) & if you decide to yank the chip, let me know. I'd love to have it to tinker with.

chip is pulled. overall im pleased with it, but i think it upped the line pressure a slight amount too much. shifts were always firm and fast. it held the gear rather then jumping rpm up (TC not locked and staying in the same gear).
Took me all of 15 seconds to pull the chip. right away - even without resetting the pcm - and the light is fine, firmness gone.
I never got into 4th as id have to be doing a fair speed to get into it. 3rd gear takes me to 200+ km/h.
O/d did work just fine, just couldnt tell as it was always flashing. the tranny this whole time functioned just fine.

You DID disconnect the BATTERY when you did this, correct ? You also need to reset the PCM for the ATX which requires NO POWER, for at least 20 minutes or longer to erase the shift pattern memory.

This is how you reset the PCM for an ATX. Removing the battery connections for 20 minutes or longer will do...
