Well, last Sunday I went to the junkyard looking for a Taurus to pull the engine from to do the 3.0 conversion... and what did I find?

A 95 TAURUS SHO!!!

So I spent all day pulling the engine from that car. My goal is to rebuild it and put it in my Contour. What I need from you folks are prayers! Wish me luck!

Good luck. You'll need that and plenty of $ becuase it's very doubtful that it will fit in it's current configuration.

Just one question (out of hundreds I could bombard you with)

What transmission are you going to use and how are you going to get it to fit, mount, hook up the wiring harnesses, etc?

Okay I couldn't resist throwing in a few more.

What harness are you going to use for the engine. DId you get the OBD-I 3L SHO PCM. It is a 3L SHO not a 3.2L SHO right?

You do know the 3L SHO engine is too tall and wide to fit the engine bay right?

You do know the 3L DURATEC from 98+ taurus is the engine that swaps into our CDW-27 platform right?

Okay I'll stop now... Really... But I don't want to...

I'll pray, and I know God is all powerful, but I don't think even he can help you get a 3.0 Yamaha engine into your contour in a working manner.

Rebuild it with low compression pistons, slap a TT on it and put it in a Factory Five kit.
Problem solved.
