ok i fixed the first problem with the ac if yall remember it would not change from the defrost setting. now it will not turn on the blower?? i checked all the fuses and relays they r all good. the one time i got it to work and stay working until the car was shut off was when i had it on and i unplugged the wires from the little white box on the passenger side to the left of the blower near the radio that thingie it worked. what is that and what does it control because something screwed up in it and its pissin me off cuz im in nc and its like 100 with a 97% humity so its hot as hell please any info would be appreciated

Call a Ford dealer and check for any recalls on your vechicle. They should be able to look this up from your VIN. I specifically know that there is a blower resistor recall and I believe there is a fusebox wiring recall also.

the car is a 98.5 se with a 2.5l engine if that helps i cant get to the vin at the moment my girlfriend has the car at college

ok got some news on the ac problem i believe its under the recall but not sure what all is covered in the recalls??

The blower resistor recall just covers the resistor for the blower switch circuit. I think it's only good for 80K miles or something IIRC, but is pretty easy to do on your own if you have to.

If your car is a 96, the recall is good for up to 150,000 miles or like ten years after the recall was sent out..not having a defroster on a cold morning is dangerous, I have yet to take advantage of this recall. My car does the same thing, only blows on the lowest setting.


1996 Contour GL AT, 2.5 V6 No mods, rollin on 14's with hubcaps, 116,000 miles, and still havent been beaten by a ricer.
