My '95 GL with a 4 cylynder did the same thing about three years ago. It was the Mega link or what-ever it's called.
Like a dumb ass I told the shop that it was the alternator and they asked me to go buy one and they'd install it... I know why they did that! It wasn't the alternator and they didn't have to eat the cost of it not being the problem. I guess that they could have lied to me and said that it was, but they are super nice guys. It was REAL cold and I was too lazy!
Have the mega link or master fusable link checked.
It seems like it was on the firewall on my car.
