Alrighty everyone. As those of you who went to the last meeting know, we discussed a possible skyline drive and or Cooter's Garage meet in the mountains of VA. The time has been set for "when the leaves start to change". But knowing how everyone's schedule is and can be I would like to set a date now so that everyone who would like to attend can have plenty of time to make time for it.
I propose 10am-11ish Saturday Sept. 27th, the first weekend of Fall (which starts on Tuesday the 23rd according to my calender). I don't want to hijack anyone else's ideas, so this is all I will say for now, but Pete, if you have another idea, please share.
If yall are wondering, Cooter's Garage, according to google is located at:
11691 Lee Highway
Sperryville, VA
22740-2123, USA
Anyway, I just wanted to get this ball rolling. Tell everyone you know of to make room in their schedule for this one. Fun will be had by all.
And again, Pete if you guys were thinkin' something different, cool.
(PS: I did change my name I'm still the same old Watdge though)

I might actually be able to make that one. Good place to caravan to and then BBQ/hike/whatever. Don't forget there's an admission fee - $10 IIRC.
I've been past Cooter's a bunch of times and always want to stop but never do. That'd be cool.

Grrr.... I'll be in a wedding that day. Two of our NECO members are gettin' hitched, and me and the admin of NECO, and another member are groomsmen. Talk about geeky... Why can't we ever seem to hook up with CEG?!

How 'bout a bi-weekly down in NoVA for once?! Say someplace in Tyson's Corner? No love for the VA peeps?

That would be cool! It's been suggested but no one has foudn a place in VA that allows all ages, isn't too crowded, and easy to find! If you can find a place like that, we are more than likely willing to slide over into VA!

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

The place we meet at in Olney isn't the best place, but consider this:
- No wait on a Friday night!
- Table for 10-15 isn't a problem
- No age limit (before 9 or 10 pm)
- "central" for MDers - Frederick, Beltsville, Baltimore, Laurel, etc.
- Food is cheap and pretty good
- Beer is cheap
Any place like that in VA?

AFA the Skyline drive/meet, we should talk to kokopelian since he's done the drive many times and is familiar with it to determine the meeting place.
Are there any parks or anything up there where we could cook up food, throw a football around, etc.?
That weekend works fine for me.
