I'm sorry, what sort of credit would you like to be given to the Vortech kit?

Does it add power? Yes.
Is it fun to drive? Yes.
Is it well engineered? Not really.
Is it the best performance/$ value? Not really.

The bottom line is, if you want to go fast for cheap, the vortech isn't the way to go. Sure the base kit may be cheaper than the turbo base kit, but the amount of money and effort required to address the shortcomings (most notably the shaft drive issues and the lack of intercooler) in the supercharger kit (especially if you want to increase output beyond the very base kit) makes the cost on par w/ the turbo kit, and it still makes less overall power, has a less desirable power delivery, and doesn' include anywhere near the same quality of components as the turbo kit.

I think the fact that the vast majority of vortech kit owners have experienced at least one catastrophic failure of either the supercharger drive, the sc itself or thier engine says heaps about the quality of that particular kit.

Keep in mind that I don't feel this way about all of Vortech's kits, pretty much just this one; A retarded monkey on crack could have done a better job of engineering this particular kit.
