I'd really like to go, but that's a 3.5-4 hour drive, plus the cost of hotel. Any idea what the rate will be for the weekend?

I may need some arm twisting.

SoundQ svt: Thank you for clearing up how things are judged for SLAP. I was really confused about the classes and the judging after all was done and said. It helps me recooperate a little better. It was a huge kick in the nuts and a SLAP in the face after all awards were handed out and I was standing there with my PARTICIPATION award with top 20 mild when we only had 14 cars in the show... <---- those are all the feelings I had leaving the show that HOT sunday... I hope that the show gets bigger so that no one is left standing in the wind... (me) Thanks again - JOE

It will be about the same. Although you may be able to stay at the Days Inn (we passed it a few times) on Lake street for about $45 a night--unless they are more expensive on the weekends.

Well, I just called the hotel to see what the "Show Rates" are. Needless to say I was surprised to find out that they have not been established yet. I'll find out who was working on that and get back to you guys.

I do know, however that the rack rate for the hotel starts at $79/night plus taxes, but it really is an awesome hotel. Go to www.stoneycreekinn.com and select the East Peoria property. The hotel is within walking distance of the river and Eastport marina, and there are 4 really good restaurants within walking distance too (Famous Dave's , Jonah's Seafood, Basta Mangarie (Italian), and The Galley Bar & Grill).

Doh! Sorry Mike. I thought you meant in Elmhurst. As for staying in Peoria, I'm already paying for a night in Elmhurst.

Even a small discount from the regular $79 rate is doable for me if I can split it with someone.

Well, who wants to room with me and make a weekend of it? If I'm going to shell out the cash to go and be in a show I have no chance of winning (my car will be pretty much bone stock until June) then I'm going to try and have some fun while I'm there.

I'm leaving to go "up north" for the weekend. If there are enough people to make this worthwhile when I get back, I'll call and make reservations on Tuesday.
