Now we need one for lesbians where they teach a straight chick to watch sports, drink beer and appreciate art fairs.

I like it. it's pretty entertaining. I do agree however that these makeover shows can get out of hand as far as showing people's shallow side, but I don't think about that stuff while I'm watching the goofy fashion guy try to get cheap thrills off of playing with the straight guy.

I was thinking more along the lines of a show where 5 straight guys teach a gay guy some of the stereotypical skills straight guys have.
(I mean we are playing on the stereotype that gay guys have more fashion sense than straight guys, right or wrong, so play along with me here.)
How about "Hard Skills for Soft Men" where our team of 5 hopelessly straight guys teach gay men how to do useful tasks around the home and car. This week's episode, installing new springs and struts on your VW Jetta.
I'm not really keen on fashion or alternative lifestyles. (However, I think it is pretty fair to say I'm not a hater, nor do I condone gay bashing.) So this show, doesn't appeal to me on SOOOOO many levels.
Final thought, a bit off topic. I'm hearing reports that they are calling the guy who killed the priest in prison this weekend a "homophobe" I'm wondering where or how the press is getting that information or making that leap, I've not heard any such things. (This probably needs a new thread, so if you have any details, please start it up and not hijack James' thread here.)
To swerve back on track, what stereotypically straight vocations should we cast for my show above?

i don't like the idea of the show because it plays up the stereotype that straight men have poor taste and gay men have good taste. which isn't ever true. being in architecture, i have seen and worked with my fair share of gay and straight designers. there is NO sexual-preference boundary between people when it comes to taste.
i realize what question this show is TRYING to answer, but i don't think anyone ever asked the question to begin with!
i don't understand why they have to call out gay men on a TV show, furthering already strong stereotypes and doing very little good for the image of gay men in mainstream America (or straight men with bad taste for that matter).

I love the show...take it as entertainment, which is what it is. Originally posted by Fat Mike: Now we need one for lesbians where they teach a straight chick to watch sports, drink beer and appreciate art fairs.
Once again another stereotype that's not necessarily true

I'm pretty sure I heard on the radio this morning that he was originally put in jail for killing a homosexual. So if that's the case that would definately give the press a reason to call him a homophobe.
To keep this on topic though, has anyone besides me noticed a lot more males getting soft? I mean have you heard about the whole no more dogdeball rules in grade school? Plus all these emo kids I see...
