I disagree, I don't think the stereotype of the typical gay man includes cross dressing, drag and hitting on every guy they meet.

Heck, even I know about "GAYDAR" and I'm embarrassingly straight, LOL.

(Although, I think a "fashionable" straight guy may confuse some implementations of GAYDAR.)

The final nail in the coffin is I see no real purpose for style and fashion.

Sure, you gotta look nice, but who cares if you are wearing this label or that, or do you have the currently popular color scheme in your home/car/clothing.

I'm more interested in a person's character. That typically doesn't change over time.

So I think a lot of "fashion" and trends play on people's insecurities.

What will he/she think of me if I don't have the latest fashion?

Who cares about people who only see your labels and not your soul, your personality, etc?

To me, fashion is about making people feel insecure about who they are, trying to hide those insecurities in merchandise, and then getting rich off of it.

I'm all for capitalism, but I'm also for value. Value in the monetary as well as character aspects of that word.
