I'm with you on that one. No reason why you can't have it both ways!
The show is honestly funny, and I have a friend that we've considered calling the show about!! We look at him, and the potential he has- he's a good guy, but, he's pretty... slovenly, if you will. If the "Fab 5" could get ahold of him, I think he'd actually see his own potential and feel MUCH better about himself.
The thing about the show is this- in the broadest sense, speaking only from my personal experiences, gay men generally have better fashion sense and better manners than most straight men. I'm not saying it applies to EVERY gay or straight guy, but, from what I've seen, it's true. The guys that they've worked on, while not always your typical alpha-male, are guys that could, honestly, benefit from their advice.
Does it appeal to everyone? Nah. No way that it would. No way am I gonna tell anyone here to change their minds about the show (if you don't like it, don't watch it, right?), but, I can honestly see where it does have its place, and I can really see it being able to help people!
