Not too experienced with stereo systems but how do you connect the amp for the subs in the trunk to the deck

You need to run a power wire from the battery. a set of RCA jacks from the deck, and a "turn on " wire form either the deck, or a source that will come on when the ignition is turned. Then of course connect the amp to the sub's. Wire thickness for the power wire is anywhere from 8 to 0 gauge. If you tell me what amp i can tell you what gauge wire you need, expect nothing inder 8 gauge. Run the RCA's down one side of the car, and the power down the other. Be SURE to ground the amp to a SOLID peice of the car, something that will be in contact with the whole frame. Bad grounds = bad sound, poor power etc.

If your amp is small enough, you can also mount it underneith the rear deck

i bought an installation kit for a 250watt amp, my amp is 280watts..the kit came with 10gauge wire, will this work?...also, i'm having a hard time finding a place to ground the amp in the trunk, and the trunk is the only place i can put the amp until i get a longer length of ground wire..any suggestions?

I grounded my amp under the rear seats. They come up easily and you should find a few places to ground your amp.

I don't trust grounding anything to the car (personal thing). I run both positive and negative wires to all of my equipment. All of the ground wires connected to one point in a star formation. Never will have noise problems this way!
