By the way, even if/when you find that it is a broken cable, you will still have to ask yourself why the cable broke.
I am pretty confident that you are having the same problem I did with the shift forks getting really stiff. They are hard to shift in certain gears and then when you decide to shift fast, bam the cable breaks.
In this case the shift forks need to be replaced so you don't keep on breaking cables.
Has your shifter ever been really sluggish or stiff when it was cold and you hadn't driven the car in a while?
That is also the way mine was.
You need to read the post in this forum that is pinned at the top about upgraded MTX-75 parts and shifter forks. I also wrote an explanation in that section that will help you out if this is indeed your transmission problem.
