At first I was thinking that replacing the stock wiring sounded like a huge job. But now I dont think it'd be that hard. Since you dont have to feed the wires through the doors to the h/u (they would go to the amp), you could just pull the old wires through and toss em then find an easier route from the amp to the door speakers. Then again, I dont really think you need to replace the wires.. But if it would make you feel better, go ahead =) Just find a good way to hide the wires.
As for an amp on your doors, the difference can be amazing. Depending on what you get, you can turn it up as loud as you want and still get crisp clear sound. This is what I plan on buying. (great deal)
