I started to do that with the decklid but I was having trouble with getting the cardboard away from the carpet. My main goal was to make a bass port for my 2 12's. Well I got frustraited when trying to cut out the cardboard without stretching the carpet. Well, when I got done, it looked like $hit. So I just cut out the hole. I found an older speaker grill that is 6 1/2 in size which is the exact hole size. I mounted the speaker grill on there. At first I was like, what the heck have I done to my car. Well, I get nothing but compliments on it now. Looks real sharp and it really helps the bass get into the cabin where it belongs. It's kinda funny, when I have some girls in the backseat with longer hair, their hair flops around when the bass hits.. Cool new feature..
