Hi,
I was at a friends house today and when I went to leave my car decided that it didn't like to idle anymore and would stall. It stalled everytime I started the engine unless I gave it some gas. When the engine warmed up a bit it idled really low (400 RPMs). I called my uncle who is a Ford mechanic and he told me to disconnect the negative battery terminal and then attach it again after a few minutes. After I did this the car idled at 1250 RPMs then slowly fell back down to about 850. I haven't taken it for a drive since then but it seems to be fixed. I know the last part is the computer relearning the idle speed but my question is why did my car do that in the first place? I think it was my IAC but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?
