All right, so I finish the passenger side brake pad change, after doing the drivers side. Well, when I was doing the compression of the caliper piston, I had unscrewed the top of the brake fluid resevoir, but when I went to pump the brakes to seat the pads in the caliper onto the rotor, I forgot to retighten the tank's cap, essentially spilling brake fluid out of the top, down the brake booster, and onto the items below. Now what could I have possibly messed up in the process. Is the brake fluid in the SVT corrosive to plastic (because I know its corrosive to paint)? If so, how should I get it off (as I did use a de-greaser, and then flush with water, and wipe off places where I could get to)? Is there now air in my lines, or the tank, and I now need to bleed. It has been a while since I have done brakes, and I just don't want anything to be messed up. Anybody have any ideas?

It doesn't hurt plastic (isn't your reservoir plastic?) but it will take the paint off anything painted. But it's not like that hasn't been done a million times before. Don't lose any sleep over it.

Yeah, good point on the plastic resevoir, but I actually meant to put rubber, since some of the boots below are made of rubber, and was wondering about those.

You could always break out the simple green and the hose. Just cover your open air intake and don't spray it directly into and electrical connections. It's a common item. You probably will want to flush the brake system while you are at it!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

IIRC, if brake fluid is left to sit on a rubber product, yes it can "brake" the material down. Again, since you got it off pretty quick, I would not worry about.

About the other areas that you might not have been able to get too, just follow the advice of dragonbreath in the other thread and "Take a deep breath!".
