I don't think you can compare the price in British Pounds to US dollars. There is a value added tax (VAT) in Europe. I know for a fact that a Jaguar S-Type R that cost about $62,000 would have been considerably more if you took the price in Pounds (per Jaguar's website) and used the exchange rate to figure what it would cost in dollars.
