Sorry my last post was barely english...That was supposed to 1.1cu for the box...the subs spec say .88cu and they SOUND like crap at high volume...where my cheaper subs didn't...so I'm curious if box air volume makes a big performance difference....

With a sealed enclosure, it shouldn't make much difference...

If I were you I would get a bit of R9 insulation and stuff the box with a little. Makes the bass a little more defined and tight when you have a smaller enclosure. But it will eat up more power if you lower the box volume.

Hope that helps.

maybe it's because your aren't feeding them enough power, or clean power, you don't have a crossover, or perhaps the source signal is just crap? The MOMO subs are the best Polk makes, and Polks are some of the very best.....so it sounds like user error to me..

I've always heard Momos are just dressed up dxs that can handle a little more power, I hope you got some good subs, regardless $399 apiece you got hosed bad dude. You can get so much better online for far cheaper price, for example Eclipse 8812 alums, just over $300 at woofersetc.com, but regardless I hope they end up kicking ass, just think you payed way too much, but of course you've probably got a factory warranty, not flaming you, just think you should have shopped around and got a better deal.

LOL....I would never pay that much for a SUB...I used to work at Goodguys Electronics....and I still have friends that work there...I got both Polk MOMO subs and a 3 year ESP for 425.00....ain't cost great.......I was just quoting the 399.00 price tag versus how they were performing...not like a 399.00 sub..thats for sure......Update though...I stuffed the box with a ****LOAD of cotton and lined the box with another coating of sealer.....they sound a lot better but still kinda weak at high volume a bit of distortion...but they are not broken in yet either....and I need to tune my AMP and EQ still....I know the power sinal is clear..I tested them today I run through caps...So i had 14.25 going from battery to CAPS and 14.55-14.88 from the CAPS to the amp...and with my amp it says 920 WATTS@14.25 volts..so They are getting plenty of power...just think they need to be broken in a little better.....
cause my 220.00 pioneers were much better sounding but they were broken in...so I'll give these another week and if not exchange them for a new set..and if those suck too...then I'll just return them for some JL Audios or something....not sure what I'll go for...

How do you have your subs wired? Are the subs sharing air space, or are they separated? What is the RMS of your amp? NOT PEAK, but RMS. Also, what guage wire are you running to the subs?? MOMO's, even though VERY over priced, are good subs, they shouldn't sound like crap.
