I have 2 polk dx's sharing air space in their box. What differnce is there with a divided box?

The difference is, sometimes they can be wired wrong. And if that is tghe case, then they can to a push/pull action and be out of sync. That is when you start having them cancel eachother out and it sounds like crap.

What zack said is correct. If wired wrong in seperate enclosures, there will be some loss in bass from waves cancelling. But when sharing the same volume, it will result in almost no sound.
