Switching your filter will be a good move.

As for the oil, I am still using regular old Valvoline. I have never used a syn. oil in any of my cars & they have all lasted to near or beyond 200,000. Your 1/2 syn should be great! Considering the mileage you've gotten so far, don't change it & enjoy your car!

I'm beginning to think that I'm too cheap, but then again, near $4 for a quart of motor oil ... hard for me to justify.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
