Born and raised in Cali yeah things are a bit screwed up but the weathers great  No one here really cares and the topic of conversation is definitely not the recall. I havent really heard anyone talk about it around the watercooler so I just pass it off. Bustamnate or Schwarzanegger will be our next Gov.

Probably not many people around the water cooler since 750,000 of them moved out of the state last year along with several businesses. You're right, nobody cares.

Some of us do care. Fact is people and businesses have been leaving due to the outragous taxes placed upon them due to Gov. Davis' screw ups. But, L.A. and the surrounding area is the fastest growing in the U.S. passing Vegas last year with an average of 730+ ppl moving here every day.
We'll prolly end up with Arnold as governer as Bustamnante doesn't seem to have enough support.
Even with the triple car licensing fees and screwed up politics I would never want to live in any other state. Hell it was 90 deg. in Pacific Palisades (about 8 min. from my house) a week before Thanksgiving last year, we have about 20-30 days max of rain throughout the year, matter of fact if it gets below 60 deg. here in L.A. people start freaking out about how cold it is, then you have the insane amount of HOT women, and a night life on par with the best party cities in the world. Nope, wouldn't want to live anywhere else, except for maybe Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

California..
Scenic but a bit too much desert. Weather is nice but a bit monotonous. Pacific Ocean is great but South Atlantic seaboard nice too.

Cost of living
Rediculous property costs
Earthquakes
Celebs
Liberals..this is a biggy..
A political freak show is better than most comedy movies..

I think you would have to grow up in the L.A. area to truly understand why so many people put up with the craziness to stay in Cali. Even with all the taxes and crap I plan on moving back there when I get out of the military...Southern Cali is just...I dunno how to describe it. Where my family lives now in less than 2 hours I can drive to the mountains to go skiiing in the winter or less than 2 hours in the opposite direction and be on the beach. Amusment parks everywhere. Club life like mad for us single peoples, its got a little something for everyone. Damn I miss home now.
