I think I've got you all beat. 97 Contour, V6, ATX with an original water pump still going strong at 168340 miles. I'm really surprised that it's still going strong since I now live out in Las Vegas with 100+ degree heat for the past 3 months. Go figure!

hey there. had my WP implode while on the highway, i think thats the only thing that saved the engine. SPEED!! Once i got off the hightway i noticed the water meter shoot up. pulled over popped the hood and the puke tank was boiling!! and when i mean imploded it clogged up the pump with little pieces. this was at 70k or so. put a new one (cream colored pastic impellar) and soon to be pushing 200k no probs now. i put about 700 miles a week on her. PS did any of you with 95 v6's know about the bad oil pressure adjusters on the timing chains??? I do now. rebuilt the whole top end and heads while i was at it too and a valve job just for sh*^s and giggles. ok so i threw a valve.
once the adjusters go they throw the timing chains out of whack and she runs like crap. Ford fixed this little problem in the 96 and up models. turned out to be a fun 9-12 hour job.
