I always thought the Lamborghini gated shifters looked soo cool, like in the old Countach and Mercialago also has one I believe. Is it possible to create one for a svt contour, or just any car for that matter?

I would think it's possible. I already have a gated shifter, but that's cause mine's an automatic.

thats exactly what ive always wanted to do! It shouldnt be too hard if you know how to work with metals, just design it yourself, get rid off the boot and reverse lock out sleeve. If you carry this out, let me know how it works out. I want to do it too!

Really, just one person that's handy could make one and copy it. It would just be a flat sheet of metal that could easily be copied and sold; for a considerable price. Make money money money...

I wouldn't think it'd be that hard. The hardest part would be cutting out the exact shift pattern. You could have it attach to the plastic ring that holds the shift boot down.

exactly! What I want to do is remove the boot completly and make the HH pattern in the gears. I'm going to buy the B&M short throw cuz the Linkage is Billit and would also change the throw pattern. The only other problem I can't get around is the reverse lock-out mechanezim, anyone know much about it?

I would think to make it look decent you would have to remove the lockout along with the spring loaded, lift up part on the shifter itself.
