I personally think this helps to solidify the belief though that they are nothing more than "throwaway cars" since they have no value after a few years...why bother fixing something that really isn't worth much.

I know more than a few Ford mechanics that have been working on cars for a long time and they all hold the Contour in rather low regard, in fact for many it is their least favorite car to work on, they all comment on the poor build quality.

While I like my 2000 SVT for what it is, I do realize that it is a low budget car and in the grand scheme of things it isn't and most likely will never be a "keeper" if there is such a thing.
