Like I said... I replaced the timing belt, tensioner (it was what broke,) timing belt guides and water pump.
Before the car died it had a nasty miss when under acceleration. Now that it runs again IT STILL MISSES (not that expected it to heal itself while it sat for a year and a half.)
I have tried several types of sparkplugs.... no help
I have put on new plug wires.... no help
I replaced the connector to the #1 injector.... no help
I replaced the air filter.... runs better!
I cleaned everything on the top of the engine with degreaser
The miss started after the top radiator hose broke and sprayed coolant everywhere under the hood. A mechanic said that this was probebly coincidental, but I don't think so.
Could the coilpack be intermittant?
Could this be the fuel filter?
IT ALSO SEEMS TO HESITATE UNDER ACCELERATION A BIT.
There is an occasional miss fire where I can hear a tiny backfire under the hood (in the intake.. not the exhaust.)
ANY IDEAS?
