I just bought a 95 Mystique last week, and the rear-view mirror was in the glove box! Can't be passing inspections like that, now, can we?
I second the vote for adhesives available in your local parts store.
Of prime importance is the need to get both the glass surface and the metal tab clean. You'll need a razor blade to get the residual glue off, lacquer thinner as a solvent for lil' bits and pieces of residual glue, and 100% alcohol as the final solvent after the lacquer thinner. Don't forget to mark the location of the tab on the exterior surface of the glass prior to scraping everything off.
