read on Valve Cover Gaskets for my car that would

Haynes manual is detailed enough to replace the valve cover gasket (it's way easy). You'll need a torque wrench though, so either be prepared to buy one (cost upwards of $30) or borrow one. Or hope you set the torque right using normal tools on an important part of the engine.

Lol.. I need to get one of those. Any idea of what pressure one of those should be set for on this Zetec L4?

To remove the valve cover all you need is a 8mm socket, 5/16 extended socket, and if it is the first time removing the valve cover maybe a pry bar.

BTW Darrel those cam gears look familiar.

I'd say spark plugs, but you don't HAVE to remove them. Not a bad idea to take 'em out and check condition & gap, though.

For the rear bolt on the valve cover that holds the wire for the VCT harness.

eh...that's strange. I don't have any other bolts on the valve cover other than the 8mm that hold it on.
